"Εις προηγούμενην ημών μελέτην περί της νήσου Κεφαλληνίας, από γεωργικής απόψεως, δημοσιευθείσαν γαλλιστί προ δύο περίπου ετών (J' ile de Cephalonie Au point de Vue Argicole), κατελήξαμεν εις το συμπέρασμα, ότι μεταξύ των άλλων μέτρων, τα οποία πρέπει να ληφθώσιν, όπως προαχθή η γεωργία εν Κεφαλληνία, πρώτιστα πάντων επιβάλλεται να καταβληθή πάσα προσπάθεια αφ' ενός μεν δια την αναδάσωσιν όλης της νήσου, αφ' ετέρου δε δια την σύμπηξιν γεωργικών συνεταιρισμών.
Δια της παρούσης εργασίας μας θα προσπαθήσωμεν να καταδείξωμεν τα αγαθά, τα οποία από πάσης απόψεως θέλουσι προκύψει εις την νήσον μας εκ της αναδασώσεως αυτής..."
