Η Αικατερίνη Σ. Γεωργακάτου γεννήθηκε και μεγάλωσε στα Τρωιαννάτα της Κεφαλονιάς. Έχει γράψει δύο αισθηματικά μυθιστορήματα, "Η εκδίκηση μιας γυναίκας" και "Το έγκλημα μιας μάνας". "Ο Κουρσαροφάγος" είναι το πρώτο της ιστορικό μυθιστόρημα και ήδη ετοιμάζεται η συνέχεια με τίτλο "Η Ευτυχία Νεκολόνα και ο ’γιος της Κεφαλονιάς", καθώς και ένα ηθογράφημα των Τρωιαννάτων με τίτλο "’ρωμα Τζατζαμινιάς".
