O Christoph U. Schminck - Gustavus (γεν. 1942) είναι καθηγητής της ιστορίας του δικαίου στο πανεπιστήμιο της Βρέμης. Έζησε επί χρόνια στην Ιταλία και την Ελλάδα. Έγραψε βιβλία με μαρτυρίες για τον Δεύτερο Παγκόσμιο Πόλεμο. Δημοσίευσε στη Γερμανία μια έρευνα για τη σφαγή της ιταλικής μεραρχίας "Aqui" τον Σεπτέμβριο του 1943 στην Κεφαλλονιά. Το τελευταίο του βιβλίο αφορά την κατοχή στην Ήπειρο και την τραγωδία του μαρτυρικού χωριού των Λυγιάδων.
