Ο παρών Ε τόμος των Επτανησιακών Φύλλων είναι αφιερωμένος στα εκατό χρόνια από την Ενωση της Επτανήσου (1864 - 1964) και στον Επτανησιακό τύπο της περιόδου 1798 - 1864.

Σκοπός του συγγραφέα είναι να φανεί καθαρά η αξία του Επτανησιακού Τύπου στην ολότητα του νεοελληνικού πολιτισμού καθώς τα ημίφυλλα, τα φυλλάδια, οι εφημερίδες και τα περιοδικά της Επτανήσου, από τα τέλη του 18ου αιώνα, πρόσφεραν αξιόλογες υπηρεσίες στην εθνική αναγεννητική πορεία της φυλής μας
